Airbnb World Pride

A longtime supporter and ally of the LGBTQ+ community, Airbnb has had a presence at Pride in San Francisco, New York, and other cities for many years. But on the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, and during a time when brands are being scrutinized for rainbow-washing, it was important Airbnb show up in an authentic way that served, celebrated, and thoughtfully hosted the community.
In the 3 days leading up to the NYC Pride March, Airbnb took over a space in Chelsea and filled it with interactive art installations, panels, performances and parties; every artist, performer, food vendor, and speaker was a member of the LGBTQ community. Given the occasion, it was important to have multigenerational representation, and cross-generational conversations, including a panel featuring people who had physically been at the Stonewall Riots.
Iridescent prismatic film covered the windows, filling the room in colorful light that changed throughout the day, washing the guests in rainbows.
